Owls are dead

I know this is the “Thrift Tip” section and I have barely begun to flesh this section out but I’m feeling a bit feisty today. Im feeling feisty about owls. Not the bird owl but the juggernaut hipster trend it’s image has become. It is a branch of the “put a bird on it” cult that usually features a swallow?...parakeet? whatever type that’s not an owl, eagle or turkey. Maybe talking abut owls being a tired trend has become a trend in and of itself and I’m now part of the meta-trend cult. Or maybe even worse, I’m talking about something that is no longer a trend and I’m appearing horribly out of touch! Oh well...enough with the owls already.

I’m going to do everyone a favor and suggest the new trend...Cthulhu. This might also be trending among the nerd ranks (hipsters are not nerds!) but let’s bring it to the masses (hipsters). I think Cthulhu is a welcome throwback to the kraken/squid/octopus trend of 2003 (I’m making that up) and reminiscent of the early 80’s fantasy vibe.

So in short...Look away! For the love of owls, do not look into the owls eyes!
