Deconstructing

I'm delighted to announce that I will be guest blogging at Memoirs of the Graduate at nidhizzle.com (the blog formerly known as engineeringsocialte.blogspot.com). Nidhizzle, aka Nidhi, is a great friend of mine that also shares a great love of craft, thrift and all sorts of creative pursuits. I won't keep you in too much suspense and I'll tell you what I will be blogging about...Deconstructing! That's my hip buzz word for taking old (often outdated) clothing and turning them into haute-couture-avant-garde-fashion-forward garb. Nidhi and I will be cutting stripping, shredding, weaving, sewing, trimming, folding, (buy it, use it, fix it...song that is playing in my head while I write this) all types of clothing to create our pieces of art. Our homework for this week is to gather a ton of our old clothes and find inspiring images. Of course I turned to etsy! Here are some inspirational haute couture finds:
